Dwarves Retire: Moving Game Room

Been a while since an update so first off apologies for that.

More and more Elven Garde arrived and my light troops were forced to retire behind my main line.

And then I just got so very tired of my game room.

So I did what any general would do when better prospects beckoned elsewhere.

I sounded the withdrawal!

You see its a 14 x 12 room with an 8 x 4 table. It gets very hot in summer...and is very hot in winter too for that matter.

All in all it is just too confined a space.

Many years ago, when we first moved into this house, game room was a nice sized room on the first floor.

As the children were little or yet to be born, it was easy enough to concede that an upstairs room with a locking doors would be better for their safety.

The game room was turned into a library.

Sitting there in the upstairs room, on the one chair that had to be moved around to allow access to the table, well I just couldn't do it any longer.

So I raised the suggestion of resurrecting the old game room with my dear Lady Wife and...

She wholeheartedly agreed.

So here I am, snatching a minute for this update.

The downstairs is almost ready. Still many  books to relocate, dusty tomes piled high on the dining room table.

Ready now to start bringing the figure collection downstairs as well as that most important of items, the tabletop itself.

Only have the stamina for about two hours worth of shifting and lifting a day though.

I consider it all part of the Hobby.

If you have stayed with me this far, many thanks for stopping by!

  2. Children have a way of doing that-taking up every bit of space you have and requiring you to compromise for their well being. Mine have both moved out this year and the house is all mine. So much fantastic space and freedom!

Good luck with the project and have fun when it is over!
